I’m Katie and I’m running to be your State Representative. I live in Sanford with my husband Kelvin, our two kids, two cats, and two dogs. We love Sanford and appreciate the variety of things to do here. I’ve invested countless hours volunteering to build our trails, and advocating for mental health and suicide prevention, because I love Sanford and want to see it thrive. I am a forester by training, and work full time as the manager of the Vegetation Management Department at Central Maine Power; my husband is a lead lineworker. Throughout my career I’ve learned the importance of responsible, yet sustainable environmental practices – maintaining the balance of sustainability and varied uses. That balance embodies my approach to all kinds of work; my goal is to always listen to both sides, come up with a solution that everyone has an interest in, and we can agree to. That’s what I’ll do in Augusta, find common ground, work across the aisle, and make meaningful impact for you.
